Radical Reimaginations of the Futures is built on the belief that collective imagination becomes stronger when more perspectives, experiences, and ways of being are able to participate.

Accessibility is part of creating the conditions for justice, care, and collective transformation. We recognise that barriers are often created by systems, environments, and practices, and we are committed to continuously learning how to remove them.

Accessibility in the Cohort

We are designing the Cohort with accessibility and care in mind. This includes:

  • Live online sessions designed to allow participation across different locations and time zones
  • Captions and transcripts to support different access needs
  • Session recordings and downloadable materials, whenever possible
  • Different ways of participating, including options for reflection, writing, listening, and sharing
  • A quiet and low-stimulation participation option for those who need a different way of engaging
  • Attention to different communication styles, energy levels, and ways of processing information
  • Opportunities to share access needs during the application process

Access needs

We invite applicants and participants to share any accessibility requirements, preferences, or considerations that would help them participate fully.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Disability-related access needs
  • Neurodivergent ways of engaging and processing information
  • Language considerations
  • Time zone and scheduling needs
  • Other forms of support that would make participation more accessible

Sharing access needs is not a disadvantage in the selection process. Understanding different needs helps us create a stronger and more supportive collective space.

 

Accessibility and participation costs

We believe economic accessibility is also part of creating equitable conditions for participation.

The Cohort is being developed through a crowdfunding model to allow us to create fair conditions for both organisers and participants. Any participation fees (if applicable) will be determined only after the crowdfunding campaign has reached the minimum support needed to launch the Cohort.

We are committed to exploring ways to reduce financial barriers and ensure that participation is not limited only to those who can afford it.
